FAQ: What is that staining that is still on my window after the cleaning?

Answer: Mineral deposits are leached from mortar and concrete by the rain, which carries it onto the glass as it runs down the exterior of the building. Over time these minerals adhere to the glass, leaving behind a stain that builds up over the years and isn’t removable with just soap and water.

FAQ:  Can you still clean the windows in the rain?

Answer: Of course! Your windows are soiled by passing vehicle exhaust and other pollution, dust blown by the wind, passing birds, pollen, tree sap, as well as the dust in the center of rain drops. Scrubbing with soap then squeegeeing clean removes the accumulation of months of this build up, greatly improving the look of your windows. They will not remain dirty if the work is performed in the rain.

Gutter Cleaning

   We offer this service to ensure proper drainage of water on roof line gutter systems. Inadequate drainage can cause water to seep back into the building envelope or cause erosion below gutters where constant spill over wears away at the landscape below. We use safe and effective means to hand remove debris that causes blockages. We can also check to ensure proper downspout flow by flushing with water. This ensures proper functioning of your gutter systems and protects your investment.

Gutter Guard Installation

   In those areas of low-rise town home complexes surrounded by trees, gutters usually fill up fast with leaves and other debris causing frequent problems. Our gutter guard product alleviates the need for frequent gutter cleaning by allowing the water to enter through perforated holes in the top of the aluminum product while keeping leaves and other potential blockages to water flow OUT. The debris which collects on top is typically blown off during the first few hot days of summer as it dries out and is swept off the roof line by the wind.  If you have areas of your complex with frequent gutter problems this is the solution.

 We offer a one year installation guarantee on the product. The gutter guard itself is covered by a manufacturers warrantee against manufacturing defects for 50 years.

   It is often those hard to reach spots which are the most noticable: underneath balconies or balcony edges, areas where damage has worn away or removed paint over time. Milner’s Window Cleaning can access those areas and perform minor painting repairs without your needing to call in the big painting companies. Many of our customers find this to be a more economical alternative when it comes to painting touch ups.

Algae Scrubbing

   In Vancouver, the rainy season lends to algae growth on the sides of buildings. On building facades, that green and black algae can eat away at the painted surfaces. We offer a hand scrub and hose rinse procedure to remove algae build up and preserve the exterior of your buildings. Use of plant friendly algicide to aid in removal is optional.
